- Too Short - A cover letter should have three paragraphs, each paragraph not over six lines long. The longest one being the middle, one or two, and the shortest one being the final, summation paragraph.
- Poor Grammar and Misspellings - Many errors can't be seen because the person writing sometimes has a difficult time seeing the mistakes in their own writing. Ask someone to proofread the cover letter for you.
- Silliness and Humor - Generally speaking, the cover letter offers up an example of your ability's to conduct business communications. It is recommended that you do not include humorous statements.
